Jim Carrey rumored to star in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"

There might be a chance to see our favourite actor Jim Carrey doing a cameo or maybe play a villian in Marc Webb's Spidey sequel, "The Amazing Spiderman 2". The movie is set to be premiered on May 2, 2014, but it was back in 14 March 2013 that he was seen around the set of this movie.
Danny Browne tweeted:
"It's Jim Carrey! #sorrynotsorry he came to the spiderman set today! I wonder what he's doing there!!!"
It sparked the rumor that he might be starring in the movie or maybe playing an interesting character? There is a picture of Carrey with a fan which should prove his presence on the set!?
This movie also stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti. Some of them are friends with Jim Carrey, so it can be a guest visit to the set also. The most likely reason is maybe that Jim Carrey same day was guest of "Late Show with David Letterman". It was recorded near the place and the photo seems to be taken outside the David Letterman studio.
Let's wait for the confirmation from the movie production or Jim Carrey himself! Until then keep guessing!
