For some reason I'm reminded of the words of Austins Powers' dad in Goldmember: "There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch. " Of course I now feel the need to offer a disclaimer..........in case any of you have Dutch blood coursing through your veins Everybody should believe in something.
I believe I'll have another coffee!
Oh, this looks like a free speech and freedom of religion thing merging into one. Let me say, that if I was on the Marylin Manson website...I would expect to see things like this. There is much I DON'T say because I'm aware it might offend people. And not just in a "conservative Christian" way. There are many liberals I know...who are also Christians...who would be uncomfortable to find THAT on a fansite that has members of many religions. RE: Christian guilt...well Clemmy's post referred to hypocrites, I took it she was referring to Christian ones..... You did say, fluffs, that I didn't HAVE to read it. Like yourself, I'm a mod here...so I read pretty much EVERYTHING. Especially when it's intro says it might be offensive. There are no fisticuffs here, but I did feel the need to express my viewpoint about it. "When in doubt, tell the truth."
Mark Twain
It is funny...lol
But I do follow... "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain" ...like in swear words etc... It's a very small thing more for testing myself than to please god. - Last edited by mav on Wed May 03, 2006 2:59 am, edited 1 time in total.
If you lived for awhile in the US....you'd realize that this isn't true. "When in doubt, tell the truth."

I loved it.
It pokes fun at people in Hollywood, not God. I think (and this is just my humble opinion) that we need to lighten up when it comes to religion and prayers. I think (and again, just me) that God doesn't give a rat's ass if you go to church, pray all day, or just live your live in an honest way that includes helping people whenever you can. Plus, it made me smile.....lol ....... (i've been wanting to do that for a while now...lol...) The truth shall set you free.
its always been promised but never delivered....i think we need to push them into some pudding if we are ever going to see the match.

I thought it was Hilarious!!! A perfect hit at the 'God' of Hollywood. Lets face it - this industry Jim is in operates exactly like that so called prayer. Money and fame is the obsession. It is what drives the machine.
And its what drove Jim, no matter what we may think. You have to have superhuman drive and tenacity to make it in Hollywood. Its a business after all. So people who have made it to the top of the acting profession could be considered the CEO's of their game. Now what CEO do you know that hasn't had to be realist and play the 'game' to get to the very top? None. Anyway, poking fun at the 'truth' of such a matter is exactly what Jim has built a career out of. That's what comedy is after all. The pain of what we dont what to admit is real. It has always been a fact that the Jesters are the only ones that are allowed to make fun of what is deemed too 'sacred' to be touched, in order to bring the mirror up to the truth. This is just another fine example... More please! Last edited by Linda Marin on Fri May 05, 2006 3:14 pm, edited 1 time in total.
