Are you sometimes embarrassed of Jim?

Postby Carreylover » Tue May 21, 2002 7:43 pm

I don't mean embarrassed but……I don't know…..it's just strange. Like here's an example you know when Jim was on David Letterman and he just went nuts about New Year's eve and he takes of his shirt and stuff? Well, sometimes I just can't watch it I mean when I see it I have to change the channel when he does that. And it's not just that but some other stuff like in "The Dead Pool" I just can't watch it and like when he was on Leno (I got this from the 20th? anniversary special) and he was connecting the dots on him...I don't know but it seems like I am embarrassed of being a fan or something.

embarassed?

Postby Pressamarita » Tue May 21, 2002 7:54 pm

then should he be embarassed of you? or those he thinks are embarassing/
when they do different things that he may think are embarassing. I wonder what he would consider
embarassing from a fan, or is he never supposed to because they are the fan.
when he's embarassed or can't be candid when he hates something ,why do you think
so?

nope...I never found myself embarressed of him. I've been embarressed FOR him though haha. When he went over the line. then I go oops. When he accidently embarresed people like alicia silverstone. She didn't appreciate it at the MTV movie awards haha. He said he was sorry. And then I feel embarrassed with him, but never for him. Or I feel with him. (like with the bombing first time stand up story). I don't know.
He doesn't embarrass me.

As for the thing if he should be embarrassed of his fans? I sure hope I wouldn't embarrass him, that's for sure. That would be my biggest nightmare. to be too much. haha.

failure isn't failure unless you give up -Jim Carrey
visit my site!soiledmypants.com

And what he did on Leno was just SOOOOO funny! (according to me that is hahaha) and I sure don't mind him taking his shirt off muahahahahhahahhh. I find him highly entertaining.

? What was embarrassing about the Dead Pool?

failure isn't failure unless you give up -Jim Carrey
visit my site!soiledmypants.com

I just can't! I can't explain it...not saying I hate him. It's just strange. Yes, he must be totally embarrassed to have me as a fan...lol. I don't tell many people that I am a fan because for some reason I feel they would make fun of me because I like him (not as a fan) because my family think's I have a crush on him and I don't I am just a fan (I only have a crush on a boy at my school .) But in a way they look at me like I am nuts or something (they don't like Jim Carrey that much.) Including my cuz, she does not even give him a chance.

Edited by: Carreylover at: 5/21/02 4:42:07 pm

Whoa, nice to know I'm not the only one who feels embarassed of Jim -- but it's not in a bad way! There's just a point where you want to look away or close your eyes when Jim goes a wee bit over-the-top Doesn't mean I don't like him though.

*TaKe KaRe NoW |

| BuH ~ BYe THeN*

but yes I sure know the feeling of people looking at ya in a funny way. That's why I talk about it at least as possible (thank god for message boards like these and best friends who are admirers of Jim too! woohoo!) but 99% of the rest of the population seems to think you're nuts for liking Jim Carrey. And they will completely misunderstand it too. Which sucks. I don't know about you guys but if I meet him I'm defenitly not gonna YELL or do...other...more embarrassing things. I find yelling offending.

failure isn't failure unless you give up -Jim Carrey
visit my site!soiledmypants.com

Edited by: cableclair at: 5/21/02 10:32:49 pm

I don't know if you mean the same or feel the same, but for me it's like this: when Jim goes over the top (however you wanna call that, it's a subjective thing anyway) it can happen that I feel embarrassed FOR him. It's hard to explain but it really has to do with the strong fanship. You always feel you have to justify that. You don't want people to think you or Jim are crazy! (maybe it's true) I want the people to like Jim and when there's something that irritates even me I'm afraid someone could say or think "what the..." It's almost like you get hurt yourself a little bit.
Hmm... but I can't think of many times I felt like that... I like his way too much! That's why we're his fans, isn't it?!

Nadine

PS: we're very open-minded here, aren't we... I like that! Philosophizing, sharing thoughts...

embarassed

Postby Pressamarita » Wed May 22, 2002 12:48 pm

I'd rather have him connecting dots on himself than other things he has done but they go with the territory of stardom. My only request is perfect socks, color , designo, and fit.

Postby Pressamarita » Wed May 22, 2002 1:02 pm

oh, I forgot they have to be clean, new, without holes or lint, and they have so smell
delicious. I may be designing some new ones, oh yeh, thin rather than thick knit, cotton.

ps. about his philosphy- who ever said something. It only adds to him. I don't give a
dam if people think he shouldn't , it doesn't take away from his comic aura, like
to accuse him of doing too many things, they make sense, and are from experience,
and helpful.
