Is he still like this?

Postby Filomena » Wed Apr 05, 2006 1:15 pm

I was reading a story about his requests during the filming of Ace Venture: When Nature Calls.

This is what it said:

"Jim Carrey obviously saw nothing unreasonable in his demands on producers during the filming of the 1995 Ace Ventura sequel When Nature Calls: Hire his own personal chef to feed him on the set during shooting, and hire a second one to look after the nutritional needs of his pet iguana.

When the producers balked over the care and feeding of the reptile, Carrey agreed to split the cost - obviously, some would say, the sign of a reasonable man willing to compromise
."

Do you think that was just him, getting used to his own fame and seeing how far he could go?

I wonder if he still does things like that? Does he have a huge entourage? A million people living with him to serve his every whim?

Interesting lifestyle, I must say.

lol......... =D> =D> =D> full credit to him........lol.......that's a very tongue in cheek request he made..........lol........i'm sure he was taking the mickey out of the whole Hollywood demands thing.......lol........but the wee Iguana needed his grub and the posh personal chefs probably refused to prepare Mealworm chili or Beetle bolognaise......so what was he supposed to do?... Houston (or Iggy, depending on the mag you read  )needed his chow......

What magazine is it from? That could make all the difference.

I've seen it in the press and on tv - I think it was on one of the entertainment shows. Also, he gave a pet (maybe the iguana?) an interesting send-off after it died by putting it on a little raft, and setting it on fire as it sailed out to sea.

The personal chef for his iguana story is actually pretty old, but I saw it resurfaced today in the Montreal Gazette.

My father flushed my canary down the toilet when I was 16. He was dead, of course.

I still haven't gotten over it.

I buried a pet mouse behind the apartment ( I lived in an apartment in Santa Barbara ) with a little cross made out of sticks. I felt so bad when it died.

And about Jim Carrey, like I said before they starved John Belushi on the set...so I don't blaim him for wanting to eat what he wanted.

I didn't know Jim had hamsters. Cool! I had three as a kid (oddly enough, I named my second hamster Jimmy, though not after Jim, lol). I knew that he had a great dane, a chocolate lab, the iguana, and a cat at some point. Does anyone know if Jim has owned any other kinds of pets? I love that he is a pet lover.
