Not me....the older I get the less judgemental I get!! The more of life that I experience, the more I understand others who have gone before me. I realize that I was a jerk for thinking or acting the way that I did. It changes my perspective and my view of that particular situation.

I think the article just reveals Jim's growth as a person. He has it all and finally gets it---money doesn't buy back time with your daughter or re-establish a family that fell apart because of selfishness and pride. I think one of the reasons he is becoming more and more attractive inside and out as he grows older is the lessons that he is learning...he doesn't allow himself to remain---but move on, his heart gets larger each year....there is peace that comes with allowing trials to bring wisdom and a desire to share honestly with those who don't yet "get it" in the hopes that they might avoid some heartbreak.....

....this is not to say that I'm not judgemental.....thoughts pop into my head about what this person should or shouldn't do.....I guess I meant that it doesn't STAY IN MY HEAD as long as it used to....I generally toss the thought or feeling if I recognize it as being critical when I really don't know the details, ya know?

These days, we are bombarded with gruesome news. The television coverage has given new meaning to "if it bleeds it leads". If it bleeds they are going to give it tedious and interminable coverage.

The 24 hour stations already have dramatic tags to lead into things like, "Showdown with Iraq", "Terror in the Middle East."

It gives a sense of unreality to things that are really happening. We get so overexposed to things like that, I think it serves to detach the public from the reality of it.

And it's almost like the networks are "creating" the news instead of simply covering it.

i agree.............even the BBC has changed to adopt certain slants and language............when it used to be very proper BBC news in the Queens English...........it's now full of shock and scandal horror.......and it's reported as such as opposed to neutral World service circa 1950.........

One of the great things about America is that it is self correcting. Sometimes it takes awhile, but it tends to do the right thing once enough people speak up.

It just seems to me that somewhere along the line some Americans have forgotten how easy it was to disagree with someone without rancor and change one's mind after enough reflection.

hhhmmmm...............but that takes ages........and in the meantime places like Britain are influenced..........which DOES NOT go down well........
