Alyonushka -

Please take my advise...before you shed another tear, before you throw away a dream, before you get on a plane back home, please read this book: The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. It took me one day to read it...actually just a few hours, and I continue to read it every day. I am a female stand up comic...not exactly culture shock but pretty close. I've tried throwing in the towel many times. I've shed many tears, worked STUPID jobs (janitor at an auto mall, scrubbing urinals...not fun), lived off of pancakes for months, and seen many of my colleagues not do so well in comedy and get depressed and isolated, turning to drugs, etc. You made a big step and statement by moving out here...resistance doesn't want you to be happy...you'll see what I mean once you've read the book. If you can't find it, PM me and I'll send it to you. Trust me on this one.

I'm so suffering now. From the cultural shock and all that stuff... feeling frustrated all the time and... crying, crying, crying!!!! A-a-a-a-a-a!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And all this stuff because I had a lot of dreams. To be a famous writer, film director, to visit America, to live in Santa Monica...

...and Jim, too.

But now I imagine myself in Jim's hands crying:"A-a-a, fuck you, Jim, I want to my mommy!!!!!"

Bless you Aly! I'm glad you're getting the chance to experience the states.

Before I croak, I wish to

1. Tricke irrigate the plants (It may take days to discover the body, who knows...)
2. Tidy the house (you mean everyday!)
3. Get ready to party (at last!)
4. Apply make-up (Ugh! macabre!)
5. Make a will (if I have assets, not if I have liabilities)

I think my problem is that there is not a lot left that I want to do.

If it's traumatic or tragic it's happened to me.

And some really fun things,too.

I would like to have kids and I think that's one thing life is going to deny me.

The thing is to do all the things you want to do then have kid(s). Then you never have to say ..What if...
I have a son and he is the greatest gift. He has an autisitc disorder and I had to dedicate my life to him and put my life aside. But even when I think about the 5 things I would like to do all that comes to my mind is to make sure he has a good life.

With the diagnosis that I have, it would be really unusual to make a conscious decision to have children.

five things i would like to do before i die

Postby janedo » Tue Sep 13, 2005 7:44 pm

ACCEPT being bi-ploar

Interview Jim Carrey either phone, online or wishingly in person about being bi-ploar and his own dark experiences

Have my movie written completely and sold to Disney

Run the chain of cleaning companies that would have derived from the writing of my movie

Die old and happy and before all of my three amazing children
