Anyone catch the In Living Color Marathon tonight?

It was so freaking hilarious! I never really watched it when it was on... I was only ten when it started, and by the time I was to the age where I would have watched, 14, it was canceled. Anyways, it was so funny. Fire Marshall Bill, and the Lassie sketches... The bloopers was the funniest episode. Jim was involved in like, 90% of them and Keenan Ivory Wayans said it best.. "Jim is the one who got us going (into fits of giggles)"

Anyway, just wondering... FX is airing them weeknights at 11:30 Pacific Time(that's New York time) Monday through Friday. Not neccessarily the same episodes, but still... they're very funny!!!

Kelly
Imagine all the people
living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will be one
~*~John Lennon~*~

Marathon

Postby Burned » Mon Jan 29, 2001 8:17 pm

I sat and taped the bits Carrey was in--and he was utterly hilarious! Unfortunately, passed out about 9:00, missing the last 2 and a half hours. Don't tell me I missed good stuff, 'cus I'll just kick myself for a week.

Favorite bits: Vera de Milo in chains, Firemarshall Bill at the sports bar, Jim as Vanilla Ice and Jim as Michael Bolton--oh, he does a great Rocky Balboa, too!

I hate that every time I go wild about something, FX puts it on really late (for me) at night. They did the same thing with Millennium reruns, and---there's just no way!

I'd love to see a Vera de Milo flick! Or Firemarshall Bill! Never happen though---Carrey doesn't like to look back.

Our cable system just aded the FX channel a few weeks ago (finally !!). I taped the In Living Color marathon because I wanted to watch the Super Bowl (unfortunately my beloved Giants looked really bad ).

I can't wait to watch the tape. I have seen the bloopers episode before and its absolutely hysterical. I also love their Superbowl episode -- I remember when Fox aired it during the halftime show of the game.

Postby carreylicious » Tue Jan 30, 2001 5:38 am

so, it got watched by all of America live? I mean... all of Super Bowl watching America? Was the game on Fox then, or Fox just aired it at halftime and if you knew it was gonna be on, you flipped to it?

Anyways, yeah, it was hilarious... I loved Jim's Fire Marshall Bill skit! Oh, and the weirdo fan that shot the cops so he could be making goofy faces behind the coach and news anchor! Damon is hilarious too... and David Allen Grier... and Tommy Davidson... they're all hilarious! Way better than SNL.

Kelly
Imagine all the people
living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will be one
~*~John Lennon~*~

Oh--left out his great performance as Gary Oldman as Dracula puttin' the moves on Ugly Girl!! She's so ugly he tries to drive a wooden stake through his own heart! And Ross Perot!! Priceless!

The guy's ability to capture the essence of other performers just defies description.

The superbowl wasn't on Fox that year. It was aired as a special counter-programming show. If you watch the show, you can see the countdown clock in the corner counting down how much time was left before the game started up again on the other network.

Oh man, an ILC marathon? I can't believe I missed it! I remember being so into the show back in 6th grade, when it became a new addition to one of FX's nightly shows. I almost never missed an episode. Jim is fantastic in the skits, even during the credits! It's great to watch him doing his comedic stuff over again

Btw, congrats to Jim for the numerous nominations for "Me, Myself & Irene" and "The Grinch" Now, if only Jim himself would show up...
~^*TaKe KaRe NoW | BuH~BYe THeN*^~

i am not sure anyone caught it but Jim's old character (now banned alt of places for his dangerous antics)Fire Marshall Bill was in Liar Liar...in crowd shot after Jim is thrown from the stairs...also I think that may be Famous Director George Lucas who is the caller on the talk show in the Truman show...not sure though
