Grinch Sequel?????
here's a sample of what I found on www.darkhorizons.com/2001/index.htm

"Hard as it might be to believe (or not), barely a month after its release, a treatment fell into my hot little hands for a project called HOW THE GRINCH SAVED CHRISTMAS, and nope, that's not a typo. This sequel to the mammoth Uni hit concerns the green guy's impending wedding to Martha May and his eventual search for his family. Also, believe it or not, it's damned funny (if not a bit formulaic).
And all I'll say at this point is that if you though The Grinch was a Grinch, wait till you meet his dad! Apparently the writers thought Jim Carrey's Grinch sounded enough like Sir Sean Connery for them to envision him as Papa Grinch. Sounds like wishful casting, and while unlikely, can't you just imagine? "

Re: Grinch Sequel?????I dont know what to think of a sequel, Seuss never really used him after the HTGSC(except for grinch night, but that was just a toon) but it doenst mean they can't use him some more. I think it would be better he didnt marry that superficial car-show-bimbo, personally I think the Grinch is a deeper character than she ever is, they never really let you get to know her much to even like her as it is. He should dump her after going out with her for awhile and finding out how materialistic and shallow she is. (ok you do sense a little jealousy<g> I know I'm bad)
I kinda liked the idea of him wondering about his background though, like why is he all green and furry and not like the Whos and are there any others like him? Maybe find a lady version of him who's more like him? (I'll take that role haha) The notion of Sean Connery playing Grinch's pop is hilarious, I would be floored if Sean actually went for it.

Will Jim do it again? Go thru the torture of not being able to itch, use the potty, sneeze, etc???? Thats what I really wanna know!

(hay maybe a TV special? )

Re: Grinch Sequel?????That so-called "Grinch" sequel summary is indeed funny. I agree that only the idea of having Sean Connery co-star as the Grinch's dad is hilarious, but I think they should leave it as it is. "The Grinch" is a great movie, but I don't think there's really place for an encore. And most important, would Dr. Seuss' widow allow it? Somehow I find that a bit unlikely since she has been such a fierce keeper of her husband's legacy.

On the other hand, the idea of leaving an over $200 million-worth franchise sit and rust also seems unlikely by pure Hollywoodian reasoning.

As the song goes: "Money, money, money makes the world go round, makes the world go round..."

Edited by: JCOAdmin at: 12/21/00 6:40:18 pm
