So, get this according to MovieHole.net; Jim Carrey is interesting in returning to the Batman franchise, but this time as The Joker.
Jim played The Riddler in the third Batman Movie "Batman Forever"
Jim as the Joker would be awesome!!! People are saying he shouldn't be, but I think it would be a good change from Nicholson's Joker.

i think that would be great...especially if they keep the format of the new batman begins movie. it was awesome - darker and cooler than the first ones with michael keaton, val kilmer, etc. AWESOME - keep us posted if you hear more!

It would definitely be interesting for him to play the joker. But I dunno, I'm not too sure how it'd turn out.

Well, Jack Nicholson did play "The Joker" in the very first Batman movie. He was so great in it, and funny. That movie is a classic and a masterpiece.

A menacing role again! Looks like he's researching... this is the third to-be rumor I've heard. A nice one though....

unless he plays a different villian...........and they ditch the joker in favour of something else..........so that Jim could make it his own again......let's face it he'll act everyone off the screen anyway.........

I don't know if I'd be too into that. The other batman movies aren't even old enough to do a remake of them. I sort of hope it doesn't happen, whether Jim Carrey plays the joker or not.

well, it wouldn't be a remake... just a different take on the story.
I'm still 50/50 on this... I would love to see Jim play the Joker, but I don't think this will ever happen.

well, in batman begins they hint at the sequel being with the joker and i think Jim could really do a great job at this very dark take on the batman story...i hope he does it!

I still don't.
If they redid it, or did a 'different take' or whatever you will call it, then they most likely would end up doing the same with Batman Forever and so forth. And Jim Carrey wouldn't replay The Riddler... since we all know hes all about moving on rather then staying with the same things that hes done before.
I think they just need to start from Batman & Robbin and move on, and not even bother with redoing any of it.

Jim would certainly do a great job, as long as he doesn't do an impression of Jack Nicholson, which I doubt would happen. Chris Nolan re-created Batman. With Batman Begins, he started the franchise completely over, erasing the ground laid by the previous films. His Batman is a different Batman. His film had a completely different tone and mood than the earlier films. Therefore, any sequels, as long as done by Chris Nolan or at least done in the same way, would be completely different. It would be interesting to see a new Joker, especially if Jim is in the part. Still, it could be nice to see a brand-new villian created by Jim Carrey entirely...
