Quote:
Actually Belbee, you brought up another scene that I thought was pretty sad. I don't know if they showed the whole part, but after they show him screaming at the sky, they cut to him lying on his bed, asleep, not able to communicate this to the technicians. They aren't paying attention, anyway, because they've cranked up the music and are dancing half naked on his bed! It's a sad/funny scene, because of Joel's desperation and the technicians are such dopes. You'll love this movie, Belbee. I promise.

Nah they actually stopped it after he screams to the sky so I didn't see him on his bed. I know I'm gonna love this movie to pieces... it's gonna mean a lot to me I think!

I was in tears for ages after watching man on the moon for the first time. I'm just glad I couldn't see it at the cinema and watched it on vid on my own, my reputation would have been in tatters if anyone had seen me!
I still allow myself the luxury of tearing up whenever I watch that film though, it's one of only 3 films I ever cried at.

In Me, Myself and Irene...

Postby Jimlover1 » Sat May 01, 2004 9:34 pm

it was sad when Hank went outside and sat on the steps of the diner after having insulted Whitey and picked the fight w/the little boy who stared at him, and Irene comes out and reminds him that since he (Hank) was a big part of Charlies life, Layla(the wife) left him, too. He cries and says I loved her, why did she leave me, Im not a bad person, and Irene reassures him No, your not a bad person, youre not, youre a good person...
Ill bet he was thinking about Lauren when he made that scene.
i also identify with thescene in Bruce Almighty where he looks in the window at Grace whos praying...i still love him but I dont want to love him anymore.
Ive felt exactly the same way about Jim every time I hear hes with another girl, even if its just a date but not yet steady,
so ive been feeling miserable for a good lot of the six years ive been loving Jimmy.
Jims whipped puppy and future girlfriend/wife, Carol Carrey

The Boat Scene

Postby Canadian Jayne » Sun May 02, 2004 1:53 am

In the Truman Show where he is on the boat caught up
(almost tied) in the rigging, and the storm keeps coming and coming. And the guy in charge allows them to keep the storm machine going, almost sacraficing Truman for the show. Then you are thinking HE'S DEAD, then he revives and you realize he is still alive and it's such a relief.

All those scenes are great :)

I cried during the end of Liar Liar... when he tells Max that he'll always love him......

And like others, I cried when Grace was praying in Bruce Almighty.

And last but not least, in ESOTSM, when Joel and Clem had to depart... god I love that movie......

according to me the saddest scenes were:
in man on the moon when Jim dies & is in coffin.

in truman show when he finds that his boat has hit a wall & he cant go beyond.

in the majestic when his dad(martin landeu) died.

in bruce almighty when he hears from the window with his God power, how much jennifer aniston luv him, but wants to forget him.
