Re: What was the saddest moment in a Jim Carrey movie? For me there's two sad moments in Jim's films that stand out.

The first one is from Doing Time on Maple Drive where his father basically disowns him in the restuarant. The look on Jim's face during that scene is just heartbreaking.

The other is in The Majestic when Harry dies. That scene is just.. wow! Again, all very heartbreaking.

Re: What was the saddest moment in a Jim Carrey movie?I cried watching Truman Show. It was very cruel what they were doing to him. First, They lied to him about his father death and then he was living in a camara world. In other words, they had him locked up in a television world. He lived in a fictitious world where people watched him and knew about his steps and everything he did. They controlled him. They had him like in a jail.

That was the saddest moment for me. <Kisses and hugs> Bye.

Re: Sad moments in Jim's moviesI don't want to spoil but there are some pretty sad moments in Eternal Sunshine. Still I'm surprised that no one yet has mentioned Man on the Moon.

Re: The saddest moment in a Jim Carrey film. For me the saddest moment in a Jim Carrey film would have to be in The Majestic when Luke's Father dies and Jim's sitting beside him on the bed and then Jim starts crying very hard and that made me cry because I'm sensitive to when people or pets pass away, seeing Jim cry in The Majestic made me cry

Re: What was the saddest moment in a Jim Carrey movie?*Eternal Sunshine spoilers*

...........................................................................................................................

In my humble opinion, the saddest scene in all of Jim's films is hands-down when the beach house starts to collapse... Joel and Clem have to say goodbye to each other, to their history, it's so beautiful and yet it'll be over soon and Joel tries to enjoy it 'til the very last second... It gets me everytime, I can't help it and by that I mean TEARS, hey even my mom cried!
Jaw-dropping gorgeous this movie is!
ANDREA

Sadest MomentEnd of man on the moon. Then in Dumb and DUmber when he told harry " I guess I forgot that you'd never ever make a mistake!"

Re: Sadest MomentI cried when he was watching Grace cry through the window, but not because of Jim's performance, but because I really identified with her. I was just like that, staying at my mother in law's house, clutching a pillow, crying my eyes out on the bed every night, praying God to help me get over him.

I cry at a lot of Jim's films, that's why I have come to be such a fan. Because he always seems to be in the films that help me the most and that I identify with the most.

I've never actually seen "Liar, Liar" all the way through, I've seen most of it, almost all one day and something always comes by. I don't get anything from that one, but the rest of them, damn.. they so make me remember times in my life and it has always helped me process the "energy".

I'm almost afraid to go see "Spotless Mind" because I'm afraid that it will be too wonderful and I'll have to cry and turn into a Jim addict for real.

Its like the Florence Nightingale syndrome, you fall in love with your nurse. I think that most closely describes it, as Jim seems to be in all the films that heal me the most. He's always bringing my salvation to me, what's not to love about that????
