Henry's list of wrongs

Postby cotton » Mon Apr 04, 2005 4:28 am

I was reading a discription of the book called "Henry's list of wrongs" By John Shepard on ebay when I saw this in the description.

Formerly an advertising executive in Kansas City, John Scott Shepherd is a rising novelist and well known screenwriter with two feature films that recently finished production: Life, or Something Like It, which stars Angelina Jolie for Twentieth Century Fox; and Joe Somebody, also a Fox film, starring Tim Allen.

Shepherd is slated to make his directorial debut with the screen adaptation of his forthcoming second Rugged Land novel, Eulogy for Joseph Way, for Warner Brothers. He is also developing three television series with NBC, WB, and Fox. Screen rights to HENRY'S LIST OF WRONGS have been sold for $1.1 million against $1.5 million to New Line Cinema, with Jim Carrey attached to star.

Is this true??? The description of the book does seem like a movie he would do.

Book desciption
With the help from a mysterious young woman, Henry Chase confesses to a list of the lives he has ruined in the pursuit of his success. Henry is going to make it right, for all of them, and maybe for himself. For every woman who ever wondered just what makes a man tick, HENRY'S LIST OF WRONGS exposes the inner workings of the male mind, its secret and not-so-secret motivations, desires and fears. One readers comment- "Redemption shall be his!- The book starts off painting a chapter of 17-year-old Henry, living in poverty with his dying father, alcoholic monther and aunt, and overweight kid sister. He gets a prom date with his dream girl, which ends with a heartbreak that hardens what's left of him.

Fast forward 10 years later and Henry has become a Wall Street hotshot known as "the Assassin". He shows no mercy in his corporate takeovers, and business students aspire to be him. On a business deal that take him back to his hometown of Kansas City, Henry has a revelation that he is a terrible person who has trampled people over the last 10 years, because he had some idea he would return to show his prom date what she gave up. He decides to jump off the balcony but is stopped by Sophie, the hotel maid.

It turns out she is a psych student and she makes Henry list who he has trampled. Together, they fly around the country so he can ask these people for their forgiveness. (He pays her $5000 a day for her fee.)

But this story is not so straighforward as one man seeking redemption. Sophie has her own secret, and Henry is ignoring a few people from whom he also needs forgiveness."

It's *so* like a psych student to do something like that.....

Great premise.

That sounds like a great story. It's weird, I think I heard of it before... Was it filmed earlier?
