Jim Carrey may still yet make "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty". <br><br>The latest news is that Samuel Goldwyn Jr. and John Goldwyn will produce the remake for Paramount Pictures. Dreamworks and Steven Spielberg will no longer be involved. Jim Carrey evidently has a "first look option" to star in the film if he chooses. <br><br>The Good: Carrey could still be involved in a movie that would showcase his talents (multiple characters and personalities).<br><br>The Bad: Spielberg is not involved and the Goldwyns sound like they want to change the film more along the lines of the short story rather than the very successful first movie starring Danny Kaye. <br><br><!--EZCODE LINK START--><a href="http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=4118" target="top">www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=4118</a><!--EZCODE LINK END--> <p></p><i></i>

I don't understand this need to re-make film classics. The Danny Kaye version was perfect! I love Jim Carrey and I know he could play the role well, but rather than trying to do something that's already been done, how about something new and original? Like ESOTM! I'm glad he's not doing the Bewitched re-make as well. It just seems to cheesy for me. Just because he looks like Darren Stevens doesn't make me want to pay $8.00 for a popcorn movie. I'd wait for the cable or DVD release. Jim is such a talented actor/comedian i think he would just be exploited in these roles. Am I alone on this one? Give me the sexy, meaty roles anytime! that's it's an incredibly subjective, visceral kind of thing that Mitty annoys me. Always has....I'm assuming always will...even if Jim Carrey is involved.<br><br> <p></p><i></i>
