Your lucky to have a grandma!
I remember one day when my mom was in the hosptial
and she was flat on her back and she wanted me to
raise the the bed up, I went to the end of the bed and
turned the handle, I was watching the handle instead of the bed. My mom started to yell in a weak voice,
hey, hey, HEY, I looked up and the feet were going up
and the bed was in front of a window, fear struck my heart, I quickly reversed the bed, then started laughing my mind flashed back to some time when I saw it on TV. I was saying Sorry to my mom as I laughed, she realized what had happened and started laughing too.
I remember also in the OLD days when I was really little my mom would come home with a grey/blue hair, everyone took it as quite normal, this was the early 60's.

Amazing Grace?? I'm sorry I had to laugh.

Sorry, I had to laugh. I recently met a senior couple
her name is Beatirice and his Henk(pronounced) Hank
Imagine an Aunt Bea and Uncle Hank
still exist, and their in a little town just like
Mayberry, so ironic.
I remember that show and Aunt Bea was someone
you would just love to hug, I had an Cousin like that
that lived up north, she lived on a farm and everytime
we went to visit during holidays, I'd walk in the house
and smell the best oatmeal cookies, my Mom could never make them the same, they were just so good. I still
remember the smell,mmmmmmmmm.

Those old names will come back into vogue.

Myrtle...Gertrude....Elsie...

Chester....Elmer.....Lloyd....

They WILL return!

Oatmeal cookies always seemed cruel to me as a kid.
Especially the ones with raisins.

Let's face it...they are little "Trail Mix" patties...a veritable health food. You'd be slavering for a chocolate chip cookie, bite in and get the grainy texture of baked gruel. Blech!

They do smell good, though...which is another reason why I think they're a conspiracy.

Postby Canadian Jayne » Fri Apr 16, 2004 2:41 pm

Hey some of those names are my friends and relatives NOW!

Cruel Gruel, hmm the Cookie Conspiracy
So are you saying what looks and smells good on the
outside is not always good on the inside.
Does that pertain to relationships too?
So one needs to find an ugly, smelly, sweetie.
Olaf perhaps?

You must have eaten some bag commercialized oatmeal cookie. The ones I mean, are soft and spicy and
yummy especially with milk. Chocolate makes me too wild,so I prefer currants.

I guess we should get back to the main question,
Who is Jim Carrey dating now, perhaps this is a question to which there is no answer, because the answer is always changing. So by the time we get the news it is the wrong answer.

But going back to Olaf, I wonder if Jim can look SO MEAN kids will have nightmares about him.

So, we have to veer back to the topic?

Postby unquirked » Fri Apr 16, 2004 5:06 pm

I have NO idea. I imagine it would be incredibly hard to date a celebrity anyway, so I'm not overly inquisitive.

As for the cookies. No I hate oatmeal except to wash my face with sometimes. And raisins, well, to quote a line from "Benny and Joon" really "they're just humiliated grapes."

Appearances? My cousin's girlfriend, who is into them (she's dating my cousin who is an attractive redhead) can tell you that I've usually strayed from the norm in my choices of men. Actually, since I'm single again (34...never been married) maybe I should take a lesson and look for a really really attractive guy and I'd have better luck.

Maybe I'll have to place a personal that says, "I'm searching for my chocolate chip cookie."

I'm really ok by myself. I know a LOT of people who have to be in a relationship. Or they're just NOT ok.

Then they get in these rushed bad relationships and they're also NOT ok.

So, either way, it seems they're NEVER ok....but there's always a lot of entertaining drama. Yes, I'll admit it entertains me, but I want no part of it.

As far as the celebrity thing. Your life would never be normal (not that anyone's is). I had the tiniest brush with a very minor moment of some renown last year and it was disconcerting to be able to google myself. My friend sent a website that had my picture on it and I wasn't expecting that. It made me uncomfortable briefly...but then I figured, "Well...I knew what I was getting myself into and this soon shall pass."

I think it would take a person with immense reserves of intestinal fortitude to subject themselves to public scrutiny day after day. Does this change the question?

Postby Canadian Jayne » Mon Apr 19, 2004 1:02 pm

Perhaps the question should change to ....

Would Jim Carrey give his fame and fortune back if he could return to relative obscurity, and date normally?
But perhaps dating and relationships are not that important to him at this time.
Alot of people are OK by themselves. I don't believe any of the Renee stuff. Firstly if the phone calls were so secret, we wouldn't know about them. Secondly, it appears that it originated with the British tabloids and we all know they couldn't lie straight in bed if they tried. Thirdly, she's engaged to Jack White, does anyone see Jim trying to break them up?
