Those old guys, I love em, but way before my time

Postby Canadian Jayne » Sat Apr 17, 2004 12:41 pm

I love Glen & Guy, but they were before my time, but
I still love 20's - 50's dancing, its really lively, with
the right songs.
This morning I watched a little of the Native channel,
I love their humor too. I think it would be kind of neat to go to a POWWOW, have any of you guys been to one?
They're using puppets now, like Henson, the mischievous character is a beaver instead of a frog.
I'm thinking of buying myself some bongos to take
to the beach.

OK, just make sure you keep those bongos covered!

I've never been to a powwow, but as a kid I was fascinated with Native American culture and would read every indian novel I could find.

I'm waiting for a really good hollywood movie with a decent plot that let's us INTO native American culture and tells a story WITHOUT the presence of Kevin Costner or another distracting gringo. And I am a gringo, so I can SAY gringo.

I really can't think of any...and certainly none recently.

Oh, and I can *tolerate* Guy Lombardo, but I do enjoy good big band music in small doses.

What was the name of that movie?

Postby Canadian Jayne » Mon Apr 19, 2004 8:21 pm

I have the one with Pierce Brosnan in it, I can't remember the name of it, but I watch it over & over,
just like I do with some of Jim's movies. That's one of
my goals to go to a POW WOW.
I remember doing projects in school on Natives as a kid,
trying to walk in the woods really quiet, I too had a curiosity, partly because my dad said we were part native wayyyyyy back, Ojibway, not sure though, I was
born blonde, but I do have dark eyes.
OK I'll keep the bongos covered.
Go look at the question by Sarah and the Farts,(flatulents)
Sounds like a new rock group or gall stone act.

Good laugh of the day!
