I don't think the whole movie is about Jim is it? Melissa just used parts of it against him or something so it seems. Ever noticed how she still uses and works off his name tho????

And Tommy, Melissa was in Man on the Moon.

Peggy the stories to the movies don't match

The Anarchist Cookbook (2003)

Drama
1 hr. 41 min. This romantic comedy depicts a group of young people living in an anarchist commune in Dallas, Texas, focusing on a college dropout named Puck (Gummersall). The relatively harmless shenanigans of the group are challenged when they are joined by a rather more dangerous nihilist named Johnny Black (Bruno), who challenges them to become more violent in their displays of anarchy...

Real Stories of the Donut Men

Synopsis: A young ambitious filmmaker experiences the worst of L.A. and decides to use his camera to record social injustice. He chronicles a day in the life of two Hispanic anarchistic punk rockers who promise to act like real L.A. cops.

Quote:
I don't think the whole movie is about Jim is it?

I don't know, Bee. She used that money to finance a film and yet last year she takes him to court to get more money! Accounting obviously wasn't her strong point!

yea, I saw clips of the Donut Man movie and it had nothing to do with Jim. Also, there's a celebrity to chase, Dennis Woodruff, you see that man EVERYWHERE in LA, he has many many cars and I always see him around town lol back to Melissa Carrey, sometimes people get married for the divorce I think, it just sucks that this happenned to Jim. I don't know why she's so demanding of him and his money, altho at times I wished my mother was of my father because he gave me only about 10% of what he was supposed to by the judge and we struggled (and still do) for many many many years, however, I don't think Melissa Carrey is struggling, if she's that strapped for money, doesn't she have a job?? I have stories about Jim's life with his daughter but I can't discuss those here, they're far different then what's written in those papers. BTW, anyone can state anything in court, it doesn't mean it's true. I've had to go to court with a friend once and there was a lot that was exagerrated cuz we wanted to win the case, but in that case, life was in danger, so I guess exagerrating the dangers of the case was needed, however we lost cuz I was too honest lol I was like 10 years old, I knew nothing about court and all that, oh well, my point is, everything is exagerrated in court by the person that wants to win. What I don't understand is Jim was the petitioner, doesn't that make him able to withdraw the respondent? It's just as bad as Liar Liar, the respondent won the case wrongfully! If the petitioner had a stronger defense against her then she wouldn't have won, but why would he have proof saved up to defend himself, he didn't see it coming, and that's usually how things like this happen. There's no way you can prove the amount of time you spend with a child or the amount of money you spend on them, photographs, reciepts and perhaps old letters and notices can prove it, but can it really? No one really knows how much time they spend together (Jim and Jane) except them, I just think Melissa wants to "hit him where it hurts" like Samantha Cole did in Liar Liar. It's bad enough to get your children taken away when you know you should rightfully own them, but to have the ex keep coming back and attacking you is painful. I've never been there of course but I can just imagine!!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
J.T. If hardcopies story is true Jim must have put a stop to it and they must have rewrote the script. Which is kind of funny because that would mean her plan backfired. In other words she spent all that money on a movie that flopped and never got her revenge. Ha Ha!!

Edited by: cotton at: 3/31/04 4:12 pm

This isn't the old one from 2003 is it? That one is on public display on a very famous website. All you have to do is go to Google and type in "Declaration of Melissa Carrey".

I thought it was going to say he yelled at them or something.

I couldn't help but laugh that he told his daughter "You are supposed to love me for me, not my money".

Frankly, she's a teenager, he's lucky she loves him AT ALL.

Most teenagers can't stand their parents, and the idea that their parents want them to love them, is just.. well.. Teenagers have other plans, usually.

Not a winning battle, I must say. It must be tough when you have so much money that it seems that its the only thing people want from you.

If Jim gives that much to his fans, I can only imagine that he's capable of giving emotionally to his daughter too. But if you don't give that, then it seems like the family will take what you're willing to give, and if its just money, they'll take that too.

Jim's probably doing the best that he can. Its also very difficult to handle severe lifestyle changes, even if its a good one, where you get loads of money. It can mess you up.

Take Cher, for instance. She grew up really poor and once she got rich, she was afraid to spend a dime of it, most of the time, because she was so afraid to be poor, once she realized that she wasn't anymore. She didn't want anything to put her back in that place again, because she hated the problems that it caused her.

So, she's kind of cheap, in some ways, I heard. Its that poor thing coming back again, its like a ghost that haunts you. It doesn't mean that Jim is cheap, just that he might feel a little overwhelmed.

Edited by: psychicmuse at: 4/1/04 2:44 pm

Quote:
"You are supposed to love me for me, not my money".

I highly doubt Jim would say that to his daughter, he probably said something else and it was taken out of context and twisted around. Jim wouldn't disrespect her, I don't really believe much of anything that's in that deposition, like I said before, I think Melissa just wants to hit him where it hurts and she'll say anything to make him pay up. Trust me, anyone can survive on the amount of money he gives them, he survived on practically nothing, there's just something about this whole thing that doesn't prove true to me. Notice they didn't go to court to settle it, they settled it amongst themselves. Jim's too kind to let Melissa lose in court.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
J.T. I didn't know how they settled it. I really just wasn't that interested.

I'd hardly say she hit him where it hurts. I think its possible that they just still want him back. Not his money. They were there before the money, am I right?

Money does strange things to people. It makes them suddenly MORE handsome than they were before, more desirable to all kinds of women and suddenly everyone is their best friend.

When the money drops off, which in Jim's case, will never happen.. he'll see who his real friends were.

Hollywood is a tricky place like that. yea, well I meant hitting him where it hurts with the rude remarks that his daughter supposedly said, making him feel like he doesn't treat her right. and yea, I think alot of people like Jim for his fame and if he ever lost that, he wouldn't be liked as much, I kinda saw that happen during The Majestic, he seemed to lose some fans, but heck, I'll love him forever!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
J.T.
