Jim Carrey Online

Question:

Jim Carrey discussion on non-movie related topics or topics which doesn't fit anywhere else...

Question:

Is Jim going to do any more religious films? I would strongly suggest he not, because so many people were offended by Bruce Almighty, and for his own personal safety. You just don't make fun of God, even if it's in a movie, because a lot of peole take God very seriously. It's could lead to dangerous situations, especially nowadays. Just wanted to share my thoughts.

Jim Carrey was positively and definitely NOT making fun of God. Jim Carrey is a good person-THE DEFENSE RESTS.

Is that a threat toward Jim? Have you even seen Bruce Almighty? If you're into spirituality you would have noticed alot of hidden messages in the movie. Alot of positive messages about God and spirituality that some people overlook, so watch it again and see what I mean, then come back and tell us what you think, cuz I think you missed the whole point of the movie, that is if you saw it.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
J.T. I'm sorry...

Postby JC » Mon Nov 17, 2003 12:19 am

I didn't mean to sound hateful or nothing, i'm just concerned about his safety that's all. And I did catch all the hidden messages, and i did read the christian review. I just keep reading messages about people banning the movie, those people, not me, who have taken the movie as an offense. I loved Bruce Almighty, and I absolutely love Jim, and I am a very spiritual person, who prays for Jim every day. Does that make sense? Or not?

I love you Jim!!!!

God has been portrayed in soooo many movies, I have no idea why Bruce Almighty is singled out for it. I didn't find anything offensive at all in it, although I'll admit I'm not religious. I think if people are offended at Bruce Almighty, then seriously they need to take a good hard look at themselves or just curl up in a corner of a room and never leave it because there's a hell of a lot of movies out there that are more offensive than Bruce Almighty! If they can't handle Bruce Almighty then the other aspects of life must be a damn nightmare for them!

Hi there.

I understand what JC means, and that's not a mean thing.
Sometimes it IS dangerous to make movies about religion things, but in this point: Jim didn't write the script himself; he just plays his part in this movie.
But there are people who don't accept this movie, even thid is a funny one. In some countries it'is forbidden.

re: Bruce Almighty, God and Jim

I suppose it depends how you view God. In Bruce Almighty, God is someone to demand 'why is this happening to me'etc. I can go with that, it depends how you, yourself, see God(or whatever form God is for you). I think Jim's trying to find the answers to spiritual answers with Bruce Almighty and perhaps gets us to do the same. God made us and Jim in his/her/its image, so we're allowed to explore who we are. Unfortunately, other cultures aren't allowed to open their minds so banning Bruce Almighty is an easy option. Jim gave an interview on The Richard & Judy Show(Brit show)before Jonathan Ross show, where he said he and two other guys collaborated on Bruce Almighty, so Jim did work on it.
