it's a great interview, and i'm thrilled he rates Eternal as so special because that's the one that means so much to me.......but not just as a fan, but as a human being........that film struck a common chord within us all i think..........

"I wish when you had your heart ripped out by somebody and you're gutted and laying on a rock somewhere, and seagulls are carrying away your pancreas, I wish you could say, 'This is going to be good someday. I'm going to use this'."

I don't know what to say. I guess he is talking about his past?

He's saying that in the agony of heartbreak we don't nesessarily see that we'll get through it and be able to reflect postively on it..........He wishes we could.......it would make the heartbreak somehow easier if we knew there was a really positive purpose for it..............but we don't live like that.....we experience the pain and only when we've gotten over it to a workable degree can we use it was 'tools'..........but we have to get past the agony stage first..........

OK ...so he is saying that these experiences helped him later, they made him stronger, and gave him more character, and I guess the 'edge' he was speaking about, but he only wishes that one could realize that when it is actually happening to them, like in the midst of the hardships and the pain. OK I get it!
