Jim's remberance day movie...already done

Postby Canadian Jayne » Sat Nov 12, 2005 8:13 pm

I've decided that a new tradition for me will be to watch
"The Majestic" sometime during the Rememberance Day week.
Why you ask?? Why wouldn't I watch an old war movie instead?
Remeberance Day is to remember the guys who passed away and gave their life and to honor those who are still here.
We know war happened, we know it is horrid, I really don't want to see it over and over again.
I'd rather watch something that declares how important it is to remember that they were people and the loss a community has for those who are gone due to war.
Sadly, when I woke up on Friday the 11th,(I work afternoons so I usually sleep in later, since I go to bed at about 2 - 3 in the morning. I had forgotten what day it was (I was planning on geting up earlier and going to the Cenotaph and of course, I forgot to set my alarm)until..... I turned on the radio and just when it was the 11 day, the 11 hour the 11 minute there was a moment of silence, all you can do is cry, sad for all those who are gone. Then the song "Imagine" came on and
I cried some more...
wishing there would be war, no more.

The Majestic is worth watching, especially during Rememberance Day week.

Good choice Canadian Jayne... I think we should remember those who lost their lives in the war and pray for those who are out there in somewhere in Iraque and other places because of this stupidity we call war...

It is stupid.. GRRR! You think ppl would learn that war only causes pain and suffering, and alot of hurt for the future, but no... it still goes on, and usually for the wrong reasons.

But we should feel proud of those men and woman who protect and serve our countries for the freedom we have....a life lost is a soul cried but with this we take memories of those who die for doing what they believe in- :(

I am proud of those people who leave their family behind and fight for a cause... I only wish that this cause was something other than wars... and that they could return home safely.

I respect everyone that has a job where they save lifes...wether they are being paid or volunteers....if we could all be like this we would be a happier earth-but since we are not, this world is going down the toilet- :(

As I watch and read.....WAR

Postby Canadian Jayne » Fri Nov 18, 2005 8:23 pm

It seems so futile for War to exist, people die over what?
Bombs, destruction,death, and pain.
What's it all for?

My song for today: "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me"
