Bruce Almighty: a kind of remake?

When I was younger I saw n oldfilm (in black and white) called The Man Who Could Work Miracles, it was the story of a lonely loser who gets the power of the gods (but can't touch free will) and screws everything up!

Maybe Bruce Almighty is a sort of remake?

It does sort of sound like a "sort of" remake

The trying to get that girl to fall in love with him and using the powers just for himself, selfish and stuff. Pretty interesting
