I loved this film from the first time I saw it.
It was mis-promoted when it was released, given the wrong hype and consequently suffered. :(
I do think it's a comedy. A great comedy, but with a poignant undertone. It always made me laugh out loud when everyone else looked puzzled an bemused.
Then I heard Jonathan Ross tell JC it was a great film and I felt vindicated! :D Laughed more when JC said he won an Oscar for it and told him to shut up about the criticism!

i always enjoyed the cable guy, for some reason when i first seen it Jim kinda spooked me, i am so easy to spook, but for some reason i enjoyed it when Jim spooked me, he even spooked me in high strung for anyone who has seen it, he kinda apperace out of no where in it. but i think the one reason why the movie didn't do so well was because the whole 20 million dollar pay check that Jim got, i remember it being a big story. and many people went and seen it because they thought he was going to act like ace, the mask, and loyd. but he didn't, so a lot of people were disapointed. a little triva i just noticed these, george segal who plays the first dick harper plays in the cable guy he plays stevens father.

Did you see Jonathan Ross interview Jack Black recently? He mentioned how great the film was (again! Woo hoo!) and JB was talking about how Jim liked to...erm, well fart, just before a scene rolled to break the ice a bit! So funny. Those hidden techniques........ 8-[

Well, I can't watch that basketball scene now without imagining those few seconds before the camera rolled. :chip:

I also heard/read (I forget which) that Jim was rubbish at the basketball bits and they had to to some fiddling with the camera, or CG or something to cover up for his poor skills. Is this true? If it isn't, I hope I haven't dissed his sporting talents too much!

Jack Black has a bit of Orsen Wells too, esp with that 'tache!

Phew, had a faint sigh of relief there! I wasn't imagining it about the basketball skills!
