Smoke?

Postby cotton » Mon Jan 24, 2005 7:45 pm

I am glad Jim quit. Does anybody know how long he smoked for? I think he might have started when he was a teenager but I am not sure.

I'm a quitter. Took me umpteen tries and after the 3rd bout of walking pnuemonia I finally quit for good. Every now and again I crave a cig, but then someone will walk by me that smells akin to an ashtray and I think, "My God, did I reek like that?" Glad I'm done with that nasty habit.

Even if I stand next to someone smoking I end up hacking up a lung the next day. Couldn't start again if I wanted to.

Yeah, well done for quitting. I've come across so many people who have given up, but have started again! It's good that you didn't do that!

MY MOM SMOKED TOO!

Postby Canadian Jayne » Fri Jan 28, 2005 8:30 pm

She smoked Menthol cigs alot, my dad quit when he was in his
middle years, but my mom still smoked till about 85 ,outlasted my dad.
We'd sit down at the table and the smoke would always go towards me,
she'd laugh and smoke with the other hand and still the smoke would
come towards me, eventually I'd have to move.
I can hardly breathe when I go into a room of smokers.

It took me more than 7 times of starting and stopping, I think the illness is what finally cured me! I'm no quitter, see? Seriously, it took me YEARS to finally quit. So far it's been 6 years of non-smoking.... Funny how we reward ourselves for not being bad!
