Re: Does an ordinary girl stand a chance?indeed! He should :-P.

And I think ordinairy girls DO stand a chance. I have all the confidence in that, and if it isn't me, then I know a who I wouldn't mind at all dating him. You know who you are :-P.

I just firmly believe when things are meant to be, they will happen. Just look at Paul McCartneys wife, for instance. She's been telling people she would date him for years. Everybody told her she was crazy, but look who was laughing last.

Princess Diana is another example (though with a slighly less happy end).

Love is a wonderful thing and we shouldn't be ashamed of it and worry too much what other people would think. Just let them think whatever they want. Cause that's just what people do. And they can take a good long stare at my finger.

cableclair

www.soiledmypants.com<-- my site
Failure isn't failure unless you give up...

Does an ordinary girl stand a chance? What I'd like to know is what is it with human nature? (I think this might be turning serious again), but why is it that "we" can't see anything positive about ourselves (ie...we're to fat, thin, tall, short, nose is too big, teeth aren't straight, wear glasses, etc. etc.). You know I can go on forever with that list. Why aren't we good enough? I honestly think it's just a girl(s) thing. Maybe I'm wrong, but does the average guy think this way too? I never hear about guys putting themselves down like girls do. The only time I see/hear guys feeling bad about themselves is when their on those talk shows, they're young boys, and their over-weight. On the other hand, girls (?) We have a list of things that are wrong with us. Why??? Why is it that girls will lower themselves (lift up their tops, get naked, fight with another girl over some jerk while he sits in the middle with a grin on his face? No guy would ever do any of that. Are girls raised so differently? It can't be that can it? Some of us have brothers, so we were raised in the same way. Is it in the toys? Maybe if we played with trucks we'd have better self-esteem. I just don't get it. Or it could be the chromosome(s). Could there be self-loathing in the X chromosome and since we as females are XX we have no choice in the matter? And whats up with this. Why is it that if someone points out something negative about us (true or not), we believe it, but if we hear something positive we don't believe them, they we're just being nice they don't really mean it. I hate that we don't think we're special. And as far as being ordinary. Celebrities, models, CEO(s), you have to remember that they live in a world of YES MEN. As long as they get their checks signed their going to tell you exactly what they think you want to hear (your wonderful, your brilliant, your beautiful, etc) Hear it enough times and you start to believe it. Their ordinary too, they just live in a "YES" world which makes some of them think that they aren't (ordinary). The thing is, is it so bad? Maybe thats the answer, we all need to live in a "YES" world. All of this is because I'm sooooooooo pissed that we as females can't/ won't/don't like ourselves. It's not right, and it shouldn't be this way. Sorry this went on, and on, and on............danzey

Re: Does an ordinary girl stand a chance?Well yea, I know what you mean, I don't know why we're that way, but I do have a friend, Jay, who's always downing himself, maybe it's the environment he grew up in or his friends. He's always saying his hair sucks and I thought men never obsess over their hair (altho Jim does too). He also doesn't understand why women judge based on looks. I think the female species overall is more into judging then men are. We're judging ourselves, we judge each other (doesn't have to be orally, it can be visually or in our minds), we don't HAVE to make these judgements but I think it's in our comfort zone, I'm sure we all deep down inside love ourselves but wish we could be perfect yet we know that there isn't even a "perfect image".

It could also be the fact that women have been treated like objects pretty much since the 1700's or earlier. Women were taught in the past that taking arsenic was healthy because it made them look sickly which was an attractive trait. We were forced to wear bussels and corsets which by the way caused the ribs to split. There have been times when women who had more weight on them were more attractive than thinner women and vice versa. Of course there are also positives to being a girl like being the first off the Titanic, but we don't really account for those. We should all take time in our day and say positive things about ourselves and each other, maybe we will grow into a happy femaley world (LOL)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
J.T. re: do ordinary girls stand a chance?Yes, I think they do. The problem is trying to meet and get to know the guy personally. I think also about the way we females are treated i.e. too fat, too thin etc. is the media's fault. They decide what the female species should look like and brainwash the public with glossy magazines with tall leggy models. It's gone on for years but we have got to accept and love ourselves. It's said, before you love somebody... you have to love yourself.

With Jim, if she's blonde and beautiful, yes...but for someone like me, I probly have a snowballs chance in Hell to marry Jimmy, or even get just a date, but that doesnt prevent me from trying! My life is being devoted to hooking up with Jimmy someday, in any way shape or form. I will date and marry the man I love if its the last thing I do! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">

Jims whipped puppy and future girlfriend/wife

P.S.
