Yes, I agree with you both on this issue. Unfortunately, the editors of these so-called magazines have to 'sell' their rags and people like Jim are 'fair game'. The only thing is for some sort of legal legislation, but then everyone starts crying about 'the freedom of the press' blah blah!! It's a vicious circle. Somehow, there's got to be some sort of compromise. We do want to know what Jim is doing but NOT all this intrusive, cruel way the paparazzi are doing it. Should there be some sort of public awareness campaign because alot of people buy these rags.? It's a difficult one..

Pooh, this is really difficult. It's hard to draw a line.
On the one hand people who wanted to become famous have in some way to concider and to accept being subject to the public and also to the whole press and paparazzi machine. They knew how it would be. Of course they didn't really know what it's like, this life, but they could at least imagine just by seeing what is going on with those who already were famous. I think there's no way you can stop the press from taking pics of stars going shopping or walking down the street or something. As soon as they go out in the public they'll have to live with that. And for my part I can accept that and I think they just have to accept that.

On the other hand paparazzi are of course crossing the line.
First of all I think it's when they take pics and stalk stars who are in a private place, whatever or wherever that is, like in their house/garden, on a private party, their wedding (!) or whatever. That's too much for me. That's just hurting someone's privacy and is without any respect.
Then sometimes it's not exactly what they're doing, but how. They're actually chasing people and they don't care about anything. They're clinging to them like a leech and are just a pest!
And third bad thing about them is that they're simply writing lies about people!

"If there's one word for my pain, it's paparazzi!!" - Jim Carrey on David Letterman '03 (it was Letterman, wasn' it )
"Whatever makes you feel good when you sit down and do it,
is what you should be chasing in your life." - Jim Carrey

Nano. It's when they cross the line that upsets me. I don't feel the need to see pictures or videos of him getting married or anything else he does that is private to him. That is his business not mine.

I once heard a paparazzi guy say that if a celebrity is at a club and it's really late the paparazzi will be outside waiting for them. What does that mean? That they like to catch these celebrities when they are tired, groggy, and sometimes drunk to make them look bad and they can make some money? I don't think that celebrities should beat them up like some of them do. But on the other hand I think there are times when the paparazzi have it coming to them.

Sometimes I think It would be kind of nice to see Jim kick some Paparazzi butt(just kidding ) Jim's to nice of a guy to do that and I wouldn't want him to get hurt.

What's the difference between the Paparazzi and a stalker? O yeah, the press sucks sometimes. They look like real stalkers. Bi\ut on the other side; if there was no press; Jim wasn't that famous....

Press is too much when you have the feeling that Jim has become a hunted animal... and it often feels that way for many celebrities, doesn't it?

Yes, it is nice when Jim does interviews and you get to know him a bit better but most of the time, I just HATE the press...
A n d r e a
