Who does Jim have to .... to get an Oscar?

In Time Magazine it says:" And by the way, who does Jim Carrey have to, you know, make love to to get an Oscar nomination?"

that is very true statement.... Jim Carrey gets snubbed so much by the academy....it seems he may have to eventually "do" somebody in order to get a nomination, let alone the actual statuette

Which performance of his do you guys think merits a nomination?

I mean, I really like Jim Carrey's persona and sense of humor.

I'm a fan, don't get me wrong...but I can't think of any of his performances that rate as Oscar-worthy.

Before you start pelting me with green things...

I have no doubt that he has the TALENT to create a character that can catch the Academy's eye...and he has plenty of time to do this.

I challenge anyone here to watch "Redemption" with Jamie Foxx and return and say that Jim deserves an oscar more...and Jamie Foxx wasn't even nominated for "Redemption." (Although....I don't know if that film was even in the running.)

i think -Man on the Moon- was an "Oscar-Role".-
my opinion is, that there may should be more catagories, or another way for
givin good mood-movies a chance.-because they are a pretty big part of
HOLLYWOODs showbiz.-

yeah i think "Man on the Moon" has been Jim's best performance and at least deserved an oscar nomination... but apparently the academy didnt like it (even though he won at the golden globes) and i think "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" was his second best performance and deserved a nomination..... but again nothing..... with regards to "The Truman Show" i know he won a golden globe for that as well but i never saw it as oscar worthy but it still was good and deserved a nomination over that italian guy at the oscars that year...

Was that Roberto Benini?

He absolutely had me rolling with laughter over his ebullient reaction to winning the Oscar.

I don't care if his movie was terrible. It was worth it just to see the joyfully over-the-top reaction.

What an uplift!

I think the movie was great and Roberto deserved the Oscar.
