For this poll I voted Robin Williams.
But I also appreciate Dennis Miller a great deal.
One night on his show, he was talking about the lawsuits against McDonald's by overweight people. He said, something like, "you could install an industrial scale in front of the door that LOCKED it if the patron was overweight and they'd sue for breach of access."
But my absolute FAVORITE comedian, I don't know the name of.
About a month after my uncle died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 52, I received free tickets to our local comedy club. My aunt has a terrific sense of humor, so I thought a night out at the comedy club would be a way to take her mind off things, if only for a little bit.
So six of us went. And this comedian came out and he was horrible. There was a lot of profanity and filth and bitterness (I am by no means a prude, but this guy wasn't funny). The agony of his performance was compounded by the fact that we all WANTED to laugh...and we were all kind of stealing sideways glances at my aunt and shifting in our chairs. I was honestly sitting in a comedy club close to tears because it seemed like the endeavor was back-firing so badly.
Then the second comedian came out. He didn't utter a single expletive. He recounted his childhood (he was in a Catholic family with lots of siblings) and he blew us away. The relief was immense. We genuinely laughed until we cried and whoever he was...he is my FAVORITE comedian ever.
"When in doubt, tell the truth."
Mark Twain

Lee Evans is too wild for me! I've seen a couple of things I like about his stand up, cos they show him in the pub sometimes, but Frank Skinner has always been my favourite!

Jim Carrey was a bit wild on his first stand ups before he started doing jokes.. he would just pull faces and fall to the ground for no reason...
it wont be long now before lee evans makes a name for him self, if he plays his cards right that is and does more movies with better roles
