I was wondering if Jim Carrey gives to any charities?<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :rollin --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/roll.gif ALT=":rollin"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <br>If not, may I suggest the NATIONAL ATAXIA FOUNDATION. It raises funds, completely by donations, for research for a cure for a group of devastating brain diseases. I shall use myself as an example of how one of the forms of Ataxia slowly destroys a person's life?<br>At 17, I had been the dodge-ball champion of the fifth grade, taken ballet lessons at six, horse-back riding lessons at seven, I played tennis in high school, and basically enjoyed an able-bodied life. Then, at 17, completely unbeknownst to me, my cerebellum started to degenerate and I began to become disabled. I have Cerebellar Ataxia-one of the forms of Ataxia-a rare brain disease (but not rare enough in my life).<br>Personally, I would love to walk again (at 39, I use a wheelchair). A cure would put the 150,000+ Americans (including children as young as 5-years-old) who have this horrible progressive neurological disease on the road to recovery and joy.<br>A donation to the NATIONAL ATAXIA FOUNDATION is easy. Yes, I have heard and read of a few charities that Jim Carrey donates to. This helps out the homeless. Which is a very good thing. After all, he was homeless with his family at one point, so he understands. I believe it was 1992 that he did that show. The premiere of The Cable Guy was a benefit for Comic Relief as well. It raised money for the charity that helps the homeless, as mentioned before. <br><br>Jim was Chairman for the A-PAC-A-LAFS-NOW (Apocalypse Now) comedy event in June of 1995, which is for the National Veterans Foundation.
